I have always been very interested in reading and writing, in Dutch (my mother tongue) as well as in English. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in English Language and Culture at the University of Amsterdam in 2011 and my master’s degree in Translation Dutch-English/English-Dutch at Leiden University the year after that. I am now a Project Manager and English and Spanish Language Specialist at the translation agency where I completed the internship for my master’s degree. In my spare time, I write fiction in English. I’ve participated in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) twice now, and plan on participating again this year. NaNoWriMo is a personal writing challenge in which you have to write a 50,000-word novel within one month. Both times, I reached 50,000 words well within the deadline. My first published novel is called The Angel of Death: The Beginning, and is the result of my second NaNoWriMo. At the moment, I’m also working on the edit of my first NaNoWriMo, and I plan on translating both novels into Dutch one day.
